Who's ready to make their own customized jacket? ME!!
You will need
- patches of your choice (I would suggest at least 8-10)
- denim jacket
- glue gun + clear glue sticks (I bought a fabric one for $7)
- Q-tips (break off the cotton end of one side. I suggest 1 q-tip per patch)
- 30 minutes
To begin, plug in your glue gun. And while you're waiting for it to heat, arrange your patches on the jacket as you want them. Personally, I like to utilize the entire jacket; front, back & sleeves.
The goal is to have an idea where you want to glue the patches before we start with the glue. To begin, you can start on any side/sleeve you wish. If you're a little nervous I would suggest starting in a spot on the jacket that will show less, such as the bottom of the jacket on the back near your side.
*Before we start I should say that you need to work at a reasonable speed so the glue doesn't dry*
Now using your glue gun, carefully place glue on THE PATCH. Make sure you get the glue on the edges of each patch before placing them in the desired position on your jacket.
Once you have glue covering the patch, carefully put in into place on the jacket. Then begin pushing around the edge of the entire patch to secure it into place. For any glue that has oozed out from under the patch, grab your q-tip and use that to wipe off the excess glue.
Now you can move on to your next patch, doing this exact same process. When you have completed placing all the patches on, make sure the edges of each patch is secured to the jacket. Use the glue gun or your q-tip to add glue as necessary.
After you have successfully added all of your patches securely, let the jacket dry completely. I suggest at least 30 minutes.
To wash your jacket...do NOT wash it in a machine. Make sure you hand wash & air dry it.
